There was no hallelujah

No Amen

No arms raised

In praise

There was

“It’s God’s will”

There was

“It’s God’s lesson”

There was

There was no choir

No one sways

In robes

Hymns taking you away

There was

“What did you do?”

There was

“Maybe you should have.”

There was

“Trust me, you’ll be ok.”

I search my bible

Like everyone says

The words don’t remove

Or fix

“You made your bed.”

Truth be told

I need no quotes of gold

Just silence

And a hand to hold.

Your memorized phrase

Doesn’t lead me to God.

I already have Him

It’s the me

You forgot
